Advocacy Starts With a Story

Applications are still open for From Practice to Policy: Using Strategic Storytelling to Advocate for Health, an online course co-created by Stanford University, People Power Health, and Climate Health Now.

This course is designed for physicians, nurses, dentists, public health professionals, trainees, and advocates who want to strengthen how they communicate, advocate, and lead.

Through this interactive online program, participants will learn how to transform their lived experiences into compelling narratives using the “Story of Self, Story of Us, and Story of Now” framework. Participants will learn how to:

• Develop narrative leadership skills that connect personal and professional experiences to shared values and urgent calls to action

• Translate frontline health experiences into compelling stories that illuminate the human impact of complex health and policy issues

• Strengthen their role as trusted messengers in public discourse, media engagement, and policy advocacy

• Use narrative practice to build collective action and advance health, equity, and community well-being
